Receiving an implant requires meticulous preparation and placement with clinical precision. Firstly, The Dentists will conduct a thorough examination which will include detailed radiographs, photographs and study models.
He will explain to you in detail the procedure, what you can expect and the steps you need to take to help make your procedure easier and aid recovery, such as having healthy teeth and gums and quit smoking.
Placing an implant is a minor procedure completed within our practice under local anaesthetic to ensure you are comfortable at all times. A small incision is made in the gum and a tiny pilot hols is made. Your implant is then carefully guided into its position as pre-determined during your planning appointments.
Following the placement of a dental implant, many patients return to work and their normal daily routine the next day.
Once your implant is placed, it can take 3-6 months to bond with your jawbone. During this time if your implant is replacing missing front teeth, The Dentists may place temporary restorations so you can retain your smile appearance and full mouth function. If replacing back teeth, a protective cover may be placed over your implant.
Once your implant has bonded with your jawbone, any temporary restorations are replaced with your new permanent teeth skilfully crafted and colour matched to your tooth enamel in our on-site laboratory so the blend seamlessly with your natural teeth, restoring your confidence and your smile.
Dental implants enjoy a high success rate, providing you with the confidence and assurance that with the right oral care, your implant treatment will offer long-term benefits and results. |
